DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR

Proverbs 28:11 (CSB)
A rich person is wise in his own eyes, but a poor one who has discernment sees through him.

1 Samuel 16:7 (CSB)
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or his stature because I have rejected him.  Humans do not see what the Lord sees, for humans see what is visible, but the Lord sees the heart.”

Psalm 119:66 (CSB)
Teach me good judgement and discernment, for I rely on your commands.

Pray to God and ask for wisdom, knowledge, discernment and understanding.  In the world we are living in, do not automatically follow the narrative.  Rather take your time to listen to what God is saying to you.  If you ask God for discernment you will receive it.  Don’t just blindly follow the crowd, because the crowd might be going in the wrong direction!

The people of this world are often fooled by the devil through money, fear, fancy clothes and fancy talk but we as God’s people have to look beyond the outside image.  Study the fruits of people.

Matthew 7:15-20 (CSB)
“Be on your guard against false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves.  You’ll recognize them by their fruit.  Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles?  In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit.  A good tree can’t produce bad fruit; neither can a bad tree produce good fruit.  Every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.  So you’ll recognize them by their fruit.

We must keep this scripture very much at the forefront of our minds.  If a person’s words and actions result in causing fear, anger and hate in the world, they are very much a bad tree, but if a person’s words and actions result in love, peace and joy being spread throughout the world, this person is a good tree.  Do not judge the book by the cover, read it first and discern for yourself.
