OUR HEAVENLY HOME AWAITS US

Have you ever wondered what our heavenly home will look like?  I have often tried to imagine what heaven is like.  I believe it will be even greater and more beautiful than any human mind can ever imagine.  We get an idea of what heaven is like in the Book of Luke, chapter 23, verses 42-43. When Jesus had been crucified, at the side of Him, one either side, were two criminals who had also been crucified.  One of the crucified men shouted insults at Jesus, but the other man rebuked him and asked Jesus to remember him.

Luke 23: 42-43 (CSB)
Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”  Jesus replied – And he said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

So heaven will be paradise.  The dictionary describes paradise as heaven; being the ultimate abode of the just.  It also refers to the Garden of Eden being paradise and tells us paradise is an ideal or idyllic place or state.  From these descriptions of the word paradise, we can confidently say that heaven will be the most beautiful, wonderful place to spend eternity.

John 14:2 (CSB)
“In my Father’s house are many rooms.  If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?”

Philippians 3:20-21 (CSB)
Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.  He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of his glorious body, by the power that enables him to subject everything to himself.

We should not be thinking about earthly things that will pass away, but instead we should think about our citizenship in heaven and the crown of life that awaits us in paradise.
