There are a lot of ‘What If’s’ that we all fret about unnecessarily. What if I lose my job? What if I can’t pay the bills? What if I get sick? What if there is a food shortage? What if? What if? I am not suggesting that these what if’s are not important, of course they are important. We get used to a certain way of life and if something happens that threatens everything we have, then of course we are going to be concerned. This is when we should turn to God and ask Him for help. If we have faith in God and trust Him 100%, then we will be blessed with His grace and mercy and He will help us.
Not one of us is exempt from trials and tribulations, Christians or non-Christians, it’s called life. The big difference is, being a Christian and trusting God gets you through a difficult situation much quicker. God promises to supply all of your needs. Notice how I said needs and not wants! God sometimes supplies our wants too but He promises to supply all of your needs.
Philippians 4:6 (CSB)
Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
This verse of scripture tells us not to be fearful and anxious about anything. Instead, we should humbly and gratefully come before God and present our requests to Him. When we have a problem, the first thing we should do is pray.
Philippians 4:19 (CSB)
And my God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
This is a verse we can say to someone who has helped us, instead of using the verse out of context by saying it to ourselves. God will often bless us by putting thoughts into the mind and heart of someone to help us.
Matthew 6:31-33 (CSB)
“So don’t worry, saying, ‘what will we eat?’ or ‘what will we drink?’ or ‘what will we wear?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.”
Do not worry about anything, rather trust God in all things. God knows what your needs are.
Psalm 37:25 (CSB)
I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous abandoned or his children begging for bread.
Philippians 4:11-13 (CSB)
I don’t say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I find myself. I know how to make do with little, and I know how to make do with a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content – whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me.
Even though we all go through difficult times, if we have faith and trust in God, we will recover from the situations we find ourselves in. Do not let anything on this earth destroy your relationship with Jesus Christ.
