Since life on planet earth began, there have been seasons.
Genesis 1:14 (CSB)
Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night. They will serve as signs for seasons and for days and years.”
Genesis 8:22 (CSB)
“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.”
This was God’s promise when Noah and his family came out of the ark, after the flood of the earth.
Psalm 104:19 (CSB)
He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting.
Deuteronomy 11:14 (CSB)
He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the later rain, that you may gather in your grain and your wine and your oil.
Psalm 74:17 (CSB)
You set all the boundaries of the earth; you made summer and winter.
You can see by the above verses that God is in control, not man. Whenever I hear the words climate change/global warming, I take no notice because I know God is in control of the seasons and the weather. About 3 years ago as I sat in a church, a lady was leading the intercession prayers and while she prayed about climate change, I very clearly heard the Holy Spirit say to me, “You are not in control of the climate, God is in control.” I had never believed in man’s claim about climate change anyway and these words from the Holy Spirit absolutely confirmed 100% what I had always thought of man’s version of climate change and global warming! The seasons and the weather we have is God given. Man and science may try to change the patterns of the weather but ultimately God will always be in control. If there are drastic changes in the weather at any given time, it is for a reason that only God knows.
Every spring the earth brings forth new growth and new life. It is wonderful to watch the trees and the plants spring into life once more and to see the animals with their young. This world will continue in this way until God decides otherwise!
As we draw nearer to the return of Jesus, can we expect adverse weather conditions?
Luke 21:25-28 (CSB)
“Then there will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and there will be anguish on the earth among nations bewildered by the roaring of the sea and waves. People will faint from fear and expectation of the things that are coming on the world, because the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these things begin to take place, stand up and lift your heads, because your redemption is near.”
My question to you is, “Do you know Jesus?” If your answer is no, then pray and repent of your sins and ask for forgiveness, believe in Jesus and let Him into your heart.
John 14:6 (CSB)
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
