All around us there is spiritual warfare at work. I have a question to ask you. Which pair of glasses are you wearing? I’m talking spiritually of course. Do you have your clear glasses on and have clear vision? Or do you have your sunglasses on and therefore remain in darkness? Are you walking around totally aware of the spiritual warfare that is in the world? Or are you totally oblivious to the spiritual warfare in the world and think that everything is alright with the world and that it is returning to what you perceive as normal?
Ephesians 6:12-13 (CSB)
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens. For this reason take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.

1 Peter 5:8-9 (CSB)
Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour. Resist him, firm in the faith, knowing that the same kind of sufferings are being experienced by your fellow believers throughout the world.
Have you noticed in the above two scriptures, that when we are warned of what is happening we are also given the answer of what to do to counteract it.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (CSB)
For although we live in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh, since the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but are powerful through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments and every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.
Whatever the devil throws at us, we can defend ourselves because of the power and knowledge of God. We must defend the truth of the gospel and increase Christ’s kingdom and make the devil’s kingdom weaker. We accomplish this by destroying the strongholds of the flesh. The spiritual battle that is raging all around us is a battle for our souls. The devil wants to separate people from God for all eternity. The devil attacks our minds with lies and evil thoughts, to try and drag us away from the truth and knowledge of God. We have to guard our minds with the truth of the gospel, the truth and the power of Jesus Christ.
1 John 4:4 (CSB)
You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
Plant the above scripture in your mind and remember it always. It tells us that God’s Holy Spirit living in us is stronger than the devil who is in the world. A strong faith in God and obeying His commands, and not being deceived by the devil, but staying close to Jesus Christ and His truth will protect you and your soul from the devil’s schemes.
1 John 5:3-4 (CSB)
For this is what love for God is: to keep his commands. And his commands are not a burden, because everyone who has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith.
Jesus has already defeated the powers of darkness.
Romans 13:11-14 (CSB)
Besides this, since you know the time, it is already the hour for you to wake up from sleep, because now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is nearly over, and the day is near; so let us discard the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk with decency, as in the daytime: not in carousing and drunkenness; not in sexual impurity and promiscuity; not in quarrelling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to gratify its desires.
It is time to wake up, it is time to take your sunglasses off and put on your clear glasses! The return of Jesus Christ to our fallen world is getting closer as every day passes. Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour? Here is a prayer you can say if you are ready to invite Jesus into your heart.
Lord Jesus, I come to you today. I am a sinner, I repent of my sins please forgive me. I believe you died and rose for me. Jesus Christ, come into my life, be my Lord and Saviour. Take control of my life from this day forward. Thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen.
