BATTEN DOWN THOSE HATCHES AND GET PREPARED

Are you prepared for the end times and last days? If not it is time to batten down the hatches and prepare yourselves.  How exactly do we prepare?  To batten down the hatches means to prepare for a difficulty or crisis.

There are three main areas to prepare in ourselves, these are; spiritually, physically and mentally.  All are important but out of the three, I believe spiritually to be the most important.  Do you know Jesus?  If not, now is a good time to get to know HIm.  We need Jesus, without Him we won’t get to heaven.  We need to be prepared spiritually, ready to spend an eternity with Jesus Christ.

Matthew 24:44 (CSB)
“This is why you are also to be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

In the above scripture, Jesus is talking about His return to our fallen world; when He returns to gather together His elect.  These are believers in Jesus Christ, people who have invited Jesus into their hearts.  We must live in readiness for the return of Jesus.

Next is to be prepared physically.  When we are as physically fit as we are able to be we feel a lot better in ourselves, we feel more able to cope with situations that arise.  Eating fresh, healthy food is very important.  Food without all the modern day additives in them and chemicals on them!  We need to be as healthy as possible for the hard times that will come.

Luke 21:36 (CSB)
“But be alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place and to stand before the Son of Man.”

The above scripture is good advice from Jesus.

Next we must be mentally prepared.  We need to have our minds as clear as we possibly can.  When we can ‘think straight’ we can achieve so much more.

Luke 21:34-35 (CSB)
“Be on your guard, so that your minds are not dulled from carousing, drunkenness, and worries of life, or that day will come on you unexpectedly like a trap.  For it will come on all who live on the face of the whole earth.”

Jesus is giving us good advice in the above scripture.  He is telling us to keep our minds as sharp as possible and not to partake in anything that will cause our minds to be dulled.  We all have our problems in life, every one of us, some more than others, but with Jesus in our lives we can overcome any problem.  My advice is don’t be a victim, be a survivor.  Get to know Jesus and get prepared.

Matthew 19:26 (CSB)
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible but with God all things are possible.”

Jesus was talking to the disciples about salvation.  Jesus was explaining that salvation is impossible with men but not with God.  With God all things are possible.  We have been given salvation by God through the death and resurrection of Jesus; for the sins of humanity.

Do you know Jesus?  If you are ready to invite Jesus into your heart, here is a prayer you can say.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today.  I am a sinner, I repent of my sins please forgive me.  I believe you died and rose for me.  Jesus Christ, come into my life, be my Lord and Saviour.  Take control of my life from this day forward.  Thank you Jesus for saving me.  Amen.
