Matthew 24:6 (CSB)
“You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet.”
Jesus said this while sitting on the Mount of Olives talking to His disciples. The disciples had gone to Jesus privately and had asked Him about the sign of His coming and of the end of the age. If we now read the next 2 verses that Jesus spoke to His disciples it will explain more.
Matthew 24:7-8 (CSB)
“For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these events are the beginning of labor pains.”
As I write this it is late November 2024 and the world is moving fast forward to very difficult and uncertain times. We can see nation rising up against nation and kingdom against kingdom. We hear of coming food shortages and of earthquakes in various places in the world. But, as Jesus said, we must not be alarmed because these events must take place. Everything happens for a reason and we know Jesus is going to return to this fallen, sinful world.
Jesus told His disciples that these events are the beginning of labor pains. Many events are going to take place leading up to the great tribulation which will see the antichrist take control of the world, but only for 7 years and then Jesus returns.
This is not a time to be faint-hearted, as difficult as this time will be we must stand strong in Jesus Christ and His truth. We must stay close to Jesus because Jesus is the only way to spend our eternal life with God. Read all of these 2 chapters of the Bible, Matthew 24 and 25.
Do you know Jesus? Time is getting short. We do not know how long is left but we can see by reading the Bible where we presently are in these times. If you are ready to ask Jesus into your life, here is a prayer you can say –
Lord Jesus, I come to you today. I am a sinner, I repent of my sins please forgive me. I believe you died and rose for me. Jesus Christ, come into my life, be my Lord and Saviour. Take control of my life from this day forward. Thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen.
