HELP OTHERS

Matthew 25:40 (CSB)
“And the King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

The above scripture is about what will happen in The Judgement when Jesus returns, in His glory with all the angels, to sit on His throne.  He will separate people to His right and to His left.  He will look at and judge everyone from all nations of the earth.  Who He judges as righteous, they will go on His right.  The people on His left are judged as not being righteous.  The Bible tells us it is like a shepherd that separates the sheep from the goats.  The sheep go on the right side, the goats go on the left side.

We still need to be saved though because we cannot make ourselves righteous by doing good deeds alone.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (CSB)
For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift not from works, so that no one can boast.

When we are saved by God’s grace, through faith in Him and have invited Jesus into our hearts and are filled with God’s Holy Spirit, we need to do as Jesus does and that is help others.

Matthew 25:35 (CSB)
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me.”

Jesus will say to the righteous people on His right that whenever they did these things for someone in need, then they also did it for Him.  The people on His left, He will tell them that they did not do these things for others in need and therefore they did not do anything for Him.

Matthew 25:34 (CSB)
Then the King will say to those on His right, “Come, you who are blessed by my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

Matthew 25:41 (CSB)
“Then He will also say to those on the left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels!”

Matthew 25:45-46 (CSB)
“Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me,’ “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

It is now almost the end of June 2025 as I write this post.  Time is speeding up as we approach the return of Jesus.  There are now lots more homeless people in the world and in the Western world we see more homeless people now than we have ever seen in our lifetime.  There are now people, who through a changing economy and world have lost their jobs, losing their income and housing, who are now living on the streets in tents or shop doorways.  There are people who still have a job and vehicle but are unable to afford the ever rising cost of housing, they are living in their vehicle.  Some people are choosing to live in their vehicle but many are having to live in their vehicle to still be able to afford to eat.

Some people living on the streets will sadly turn to drink and drugs.  Many on the streets fall into despair and depression.  Do you help people you see who are obviously in need, or are you a person who keeps on walking by choosing to ignore the situation?  By giving a hungry person some food; a thirsty person a drink; a person who needs clothing or shoes something to wear; helping a person to find shelter somewhere; running errands for a sick person or helping with their housework until they are better or until help is put into place for them; visiting people in prison.  By giving either items or your time to people in need, you are not only doing it for them but you are also doing it for Jesus.  Remember, Jesus knows what sort of person you are and on Judgement Day we will all be judged.
