Daniel 12:4 (CSB)
“But you, Daniel, keep these words secret and seal the book until the time of the end.  Many will roam about, and knowledge will increase.”

Daniel lived approximately 600 years before the birth of Jesus Christ.  Daniel was given visions of the end times, when God will bring final judgement on the world.  He was given these visions by angelic beings.

The verse tells us that many will roam about and knowledge will increase.  It is only now, in this time, that we have more understanding of those words.  In Daniel’s time, people then would have had no idea of the technology that would become available to us now.  The words, many will roam about, could imply people now having many forms of transport available to them to travel anywhere in the world they choose, and, knowledge will increase, is a sign of the times we are now living in.  We only have to turn on a computer to get all the knowledge and information we want.  Also, we have all the books we could wish for to learn from too.  The book of visions was to be sealed until the time of the end.

Dear God,
Thank you for giving prophetic visions to people, not just in Daniel’s time but throughout all times.  Thank you God that you are in control of everything.  We know that we are to experience some very difficult and hard times to come in our lifetime, but we know the end of the story!  The glorious return to earth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  We pray that we will be awake and ready for that wonderful day when we will see Jesus Christ return.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.
