Psalms 34:7 (CSB)
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and rescues them.

For the people who fear the Lord (which means those who respect and trust the Lord), the angel of the Lord is present to protect them from danger and evil.  The angel of the Lord is perhaps Jesus Christ himself.

Holy angels are God’s ministering servants who are sent to protect people who love God and put their trust in Him.  It is very comforting to know that God protects those who love Him, from harm and danger.

This Psalm was written by David, when he feared for his life.  He had to pretend he was insane to avoid capture from King Saul.  David says in Psalms 34:1 (CSB) I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.  We should bless the Lord in good times and in bad times.  David also said, how happy the person is who takes refuge in the Lord.  In verses 21 and 22, we are told that evil brings death to the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished.  But all who take refuge in the Lord will not be punished.  Knowing that there is spiritual warfare going on around us all and a battle for our souls, we can rest assured that if we truly love the Lord our God we are protected and saved.

Dear God,
Thank you that you and your Holy angels are forever present in the lives of those who love you.  Thank you that we are rescued from harm and danger.  Thank you for the joy and peace we receive from you God, when we put our trust in you.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.
