Proverbs 29:18 (CSB)
Without revelation, people run wild, but one who follows divine instruction will be happy.
The meaning of this verse is; people who have the absence of God’s revelation will run wild, or in other words, their life will lead to moral and spiritual decline. We are very fortunate these days to have the Bible to read God’s Word, His wisdom and His knowledge to lead us along the right path. We have the Bible in book form and in many different languages and we also have the Bible online. In Biblical times, God appointed prophets to the nations. These people would have divine visions and would tell the people of God’s Will and Plan.
Today is no different to the past. If people do not know God and what is acceptable to God, and they only do what they want to do, then there will always be chaos in the world. This is a spiritual conflict between righteousness and evil.
The Book of Proverbs was written by King Solomon who was an ancient King of Israel. He was the son of King David. He was a very wise man. Solomon had asked God for wisdom to be a good leader and God gave Solomon wisdom and many other blessings.
Dear God,
Thank you that we can ask You for wisdom and discernment, so that we will know the difference between right and wrong, good and evil. Please help and encourage us to share Your wisdom and Your Word with others, to help build up their spirit, and for them to be close to You God. To show others the truth of Your Word that will lead them to live a righteous life that is pleasing to You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
