James 1:2-4 (CSB)
Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.
When trials come, they come to test our faith. Remember that God is in control of everything. We are told to consider the trials a great joy. Why would we consider a trial a joy? It is because the testing of our faith and the difficulties the trial brings us, actually helps to develop our Christian character and makes us mature in our spiritual walk. The trial also improves our patience.
When you are facing a trial, don’t give up. Remember that God is in control and He is perfecting you. When your Christian character develops, it will increase your spiritual maturity. God allows these trials, when they appear, because it is a way to grow your Christian faith, character and patience, your trust in Him and your dependence on God in times of difficulty, knowing that God will get you through these trials. Endurance will give you inner strength.
Dear God,
We pray for endurance when a trial comes our way. We know that by keeping a strong faith in You and trusting You, we find the inner strength and patience we need to get through the trial. We will consider the trial a joy because we know our Christian character will grow and we will become mature in our spiritual walk. We thank you for these times God because we move forward in our Christian walk with You. We know You are perfecting us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
