Matthew 5:7 (CSB)
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Jesus Christ spoke these words at the Sermon on the Mount. They are part of The Beatitudes; a series of 8 teachings by Jesus Christ. The Beatitudes focus on mercy, peace and love, instead of the world’s power and greed. To be merciful is to show forgiveness, kindness and compassion to others. God will then show mercy to you. The Beatitudes show us that true happiness comes from being humble, merciful, living a peaceful life and being dependent on God, instead of living as the world lives with its greed, power and pride.
Dear God,
Thank you for showing us how we should be living our lives. Thank you that true happiness and contentment comes from knowing You and helping others. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
