Ephesians 6:23-24 (CSB)
Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all who have undying love for our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul said these words as a final blessing of a letter. He concentrates on peace, faith, love and grace, in his blessing to Christians, to offer encouragement to them. In chapter 6 of Ephesians, the Apostle Paul instructs children to obey their parents in the Lord, he instructs fathers how to raise their children in faith. He also instructs slaves and masters on how to treat each other with respect. He tells Christians to put on the full armor of God to enable them to stand against the schemes of the devil. He explains that their struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against evil, spiritual forces. He explains to the Christians what the full armor of God means. Lastly, he gives his final blessing to the Christians.
Dear God,
Thank you for the peace and love you give to those of us who have great faith in You. Thank you for the grace you give to those of us who have undying love for Jesus Christ. Thank you for the instructions on how to defeat the enemy, by putting on the full armor of God; the belt of truth, chest armor of righteousness, sandals with readiness for the gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation and sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
