Proverbs 8:35 (CSB)
For the one who finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord.
Chapter 8 of Proverbs is about wisdom. We are told that wisdom was with God at the beginning of creation. To have wisdom is to have life. For those who ignore wisdom and seek foolishness, they have death. If we ask God for wisdom, He will give us wisdom. Not only do we find life when we have wisdom, but we also receive favor from the Lord. If we listen to wisdom we are blessed. Those who hate wisdom love death, not only are they hurting themselves but they also harm their soul.
God’s favor to us includes; having inner peace, having opportunities arise, God’s help when we need it, God’s protection. Favor does not stop hard times from happening, but we are helped through those times by God.
Dear God,
Thank you for giving us wisdom when we ask you for it. Thank you for your favor, love and kindness towards us. Thank you for giving us life. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
