Proverbs 3:1-2 (CSB)
My son, don’t forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commands; for they will bring you many days, a full life, and well-being.

King Solomon is the author of these verses.  When he used the phrase ‘my son,’ he may have meant his own son, or it could have been a student as this term was often used for students.  There is a spiritual connection, in these verses, to God.  They also apply to God, as God is our heavenly Father and we are His sons and daughters.  The message of the verses is about wisdom and trust.  The father tells his son not to forget his teaching and to keep his commands in his heart.  Leading a wise life with trust in his father will give the son a better life.  The same is true of God and His children.  When we put all of our trust in God and follow His commands, keeping His commands in our heart and live a wise life, we have a better life.

Dear God,
We thank you for Your words of wisdom and the positive impact they have on our lives.  Thank you for being our heavenly Father who always has our best interests at heart.  Thank you for caring about our wellbeing.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.
