Luke 17:26 (CSB)
“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man.”
This verse explains what the spiritual condition of people will be like leading up to the return of Jesus Christ. Jesus said it will be the same as it was in the days of Noah. Just before Jesus returns to Earth, many people will be going about their lives not even thinking about God. There will be a moral decline, people will not understand that judgement is coming. In Noah’s time, Noah tried to warn people of the coming worldwide flood but people wouldn’t take any notice of Noah’s warnings. It will be the same leading up to the return of Jesus Christ. Some people will have no interest or belief in God, the Bible or end time prophecies. There will be sin, violence and war in the world. People in Noah’s time were being sinful and not repenting. They took no notice of Noah’s warnings and just carried on with their lives right up until the start of the flood, and then they were drowned.
At the return of Jesus, some people will be exactly the same as the people were in Noah’s time. They will not realise that what is happening in the world is Biblical. They have the opportunity to repent and ask for God’s forgiveness before it is too late, but people will just carry on with what they are doing right up until Jesus Christ returns, and they will suffer greatly.
Dear God,
We pray for the people that are perishing in the world today. We pray that they repent of their sins and ask for your forgiveness before it is too late. We pray they find Jesus and live a righteous life and be ready for the return of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
