1 Peter 3:8 (CSB)
Finally, all of you be like-minded and sympathetic, love one another, and be compassionate and humble.
The Apostle Peter was addressing Christians when he said, all of you.  He was teaching, in this verse, for Christians to think about each other, to be in unity or like-minded with each other, to be sympathetic and compassionate with each other, to love one another and to have a tender heart and a humble mind.  When we all have these qualities, we can help one another, show love and kindness to each other, be compassionate and have a humble mind.  These qualities in us are displaying the character of Jesus Christ through ourselves.  The world now is always talking about pride and being proud of oneself, but being proud is exactly what we should not be.  God resists the proud, He wants us to be humble.  God gives grace to those who are humble.

Dear God,
Thank you for showing us which qualities you want all of us to have.  When we have these qualities, we show loving kindness and compassion to others, and we display the character of Jesus Christ through ourselves.  We pray for people who are hard-hearted, unkind, prideful and arrogant, to be touched by the qualities God wants us to have.  We pray they too will be blessed with good qualities and have a humble mind, as pride will lead them to destruction.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.
