Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.
James is encouraging Christians to confess their sins to each other and to pray for each other. Prayer is definitely a powerful thing to do. James is saying that Christians who pray sincerely for each other will be healed. He says the prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect. A righteous person is someone who is connected to God, believes in Jesus Christ, has been saved and is now a Christian and has God’s Holy Spirit within them, and who seeks to lead a life that is moral and free from sin.
Healing can be for physical illnesses and spiritual weaknesses. God hears our prayers. You have to trust and believe that God hears your prayers and will heal you. Not to doubt, or think He might answer your prayers, but to 100% trust and believe that God will heal you. The result might not be instant, we need to practice having patience, but healing will come if you are in alignment with God.
Dear God,
Thank you that we can ask you for healing both physically and spiritually, through our belief in You and Jesus Christ. Thank you, that as Christians, we can confess our sins to each other and pray for each other. Thank you God for hearing our prayers. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
