Psalms 27:3 (CSB)
Though an army deploys against me, my heart will not be afraid; though a war breaks out against me, I will still be confident.

King David, author of Psalm 27, showed tremendous confidence when surrounded by his enemies.  Because he trusted God to protect him, his heart was not afraid.  He said that even if war were to break out against him, he would still be confident.  To think like David, you need to completely trust God to look after you and protect you.  To have this level of trust in God, you need to have a close relationship with God, and He will provide you with protection, confidence, peace and a calm heart.

King David wrote Psalm 27 at a time when he faced extreme trials or warfare.  Although the exact timing of events that were happening is not known, it is thought that it may have been when he was fleeing from King Saul or from his son Absalom.

Dear God,
Whatever trials we face in our life, we can be confident that we will not be afraid because we put our trust in You.  We thank you God for your protection over our life and keeping us safe from all harm and evil.  Thank you for being by our side and watching over us.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.
