Habakkuk 2:14 (CSB)
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord’s glory, as the water covers the sea.
Whatever trials and evil is in the world now, in 2026, we are reminded by this verse that one day the Lord’s glory will completely fill the earth, as the water covers the sea. For all who trust in God know that evil can never win. Jesus already has the victory.
The prophet Habakkuk wrote this verse around 615 BC to 605 BC, when there was widespread despair, violence, corruption and injustice in the ancient southern kingdom of Judah, in the Middle East, where Habakkuk lived. There was moral decay. Idolatry had returned and there was spiritual decline. One Empire was collapsing and another Empire was fast coming to power.
Amid all the chaos, in the world, in 2026, concentrate your mind on Jesus Christ and trust in God. You will find peace and rest in Jesus Christ. At the appointed time, Jesus is going to return to earth to take charge and restore order.
Dear God,
Thank you that Jesus Christ is going to return to earth to restore order. In these chaotic times we are living through, we need to keep our mind fixed on you God. We need to find our strength in Jesus Christ and be led by your Holy Spirit God. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
