Psalms 100:1-5 (CSB)
Let the whole earth shout triumphantly to the LORD! Serve the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Acknowledge that the LORD is God. He made us, and we are his, – his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and bless his name. For the LORD is good, and his faithful love endures forever; his faithfulness, through all generations.
Psalm 100 is a psalm of thanksgiving. Its author is unknown. It begins by calling all people of the whole earth to shout triumphantly to the Lord, and to serve the Lord with gladness and come before him with joyful songs. We are to acknowledge that the Lord is God. God is our creator and we should praise Him. He is our heavenly Father, good, merciful and faithful. We are to enter God’s gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. So, we approach God with gratitude, we praise Him and remember that He made us in His image. We thank Him and bless His name. In good times and in hard times, we keep an attitude of gratitude. God is good and his faithful love endures forever, through all generations.
Dear God,
We are thankful to have you as our heavenly Father, watching over us and protecting us from all evil and harm. You are our God and we are Your people. Your faithful love endures forever and we praise Your Holy Name. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
