Psalms 27:1 (CSB)
The LORD is my light and my salvation – whom should I fear?  The LORD is the stronghold of my life – whom should I dread?

God is our light.  When we trust in God, no darkness can harm us.  There is no need to be afraid, because God is in charge.  God protects us, He is the stronghold of our lives.  In God we have our salvation and we are saved.  There is no need to dread anything.  When we are going through hard times or scary times, God will get us through those times.  If we are stressed because of what is happening in the world, we must completely trust in God and He will get us through each situation that arises.  We must not fear man or dread the unknown.  God has taken us out of darkness and brought us into His light.  The darkness can never conquer the light.  When light appears, then darkness disappears.  Trust in God and stay close to Him and you will find peace in your heart and mind.

King David, author of this psalm, had great confidence in God during times of fear and danger in his life.

Dear God,
Thank you that you are the stronghold and strength of our lives. When man wants us to be fearful, we will not be afraid because we have complete trust and confidence in you God. We know there is no-one and nothing to fear or dread, because you are the light of our life and light always overcomes the darkness. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
