Hebrews 13:5 (CSB)
Keep your life free from the love of money.  Be satisfied with what you have, for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.

This verse teaches us about contentment and warns us of greed.  To have inner contentment is to be satisfied with our life.  To be envious of others with money and to have a love of money, makes your soul restless, you then become discontented and can be led away from having faith, because your thoughts will be about money and not about God.  During times of struggle and hardship, we need to keep a strong faith, trust God to provide for us and obey God’s commands.  We have God’s promise that He will never leave us or abandon us.  He is there with us in good times and in bad times.  He is ever present and in hard times is a constant support for us, and offers us comfort and hope.  He will be with us during stormy situations and get us through them.

Dear God,
Thank you that you are an ever present God, and that you will never abandon us.  Thank you for getting us through difficult situations in life.  Thank you for showing us we should keep our life free from the love of money, and to be satisfied with what we have.  Then we will be blessed with inner contentment.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.
