1 Peter 1:8-9 (CSB)
Though you have not seen him, you love him; though not seeing him now, you believe in him, and you rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy, because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Believers in Jesus Christ have not seen Him but we love Him and we believe in Him. We have joy and peace in our heart and mind. We love Jesus and we know we will spend eternity with Him. When our mortal body eventually perishes, we will receive our eternal spiritual body and we will be with Jesus Christ for evermore.
The author of these verses of scripture was the Apostle Peter. He was writing to persecuted Christians living in Asia Minor. Peter explained that by suffering temporarily, their faith would be refined.
Dear God,
Although we have not physically seen Jesus Christ, we love Him and we believe and trust in Him. Our heart is filled with love, joy and peace because we have been saved and we know we will spend eternity with Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
