Proverbs 10:29-30 (CSB)
The way of the LORD is a stronghold for the honorable, but destruction awaits evildoers. The righteous will never be shaken, but the wicked will not remain on the earth.
For honorable people, following the ways of the Lord is a stronghold for them. A stronghold is a fortified place, when it is under attack, the strong walls will keep the enemy out. In the same way, taking refuge in the Lord is a stronghold for the honorable when they are under attack from the enemy. God will protect His faithful followers from attacks. Staying close to God leads to eternal life. For the evildoers, their ways will lead to destruction. The evildoers will see God’s wrath. People who pursue truth and respect God will be more successful than those people who defy God. Righteous people will not be shaken because their trust is in the Lord. They know that God will protect them from the enemy and danger. Those who are wicked will eventually be removed from their position, God will not allow them to remain.
Dear God,
You are our stronghold and place of refuge, our trust is in you and we are safe. We will never be shaken. You keep us protected and away from danger and we thank you God. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
