Zechariah 10:12 (CSB)
I will strengthen them in the LORD, and they will march in his name – this is the LORD’S declaration.
The prophet Zechariah, in the year 520 BC, began his ministry. He is the author of the Book of Zechariah in the Bible. In chapter 10 of Zechariah, God was angry with the spiritual leaders of that time. God condemned the false shepherds because they had let the people go astray spiritually. God said He would punish those leaders. God also promised to care for His people and strengthen them. He vowed to bring back the scattered exiles from countries like Assyria and Egypt, back to Israel. In this verse God promises to restore them because He has compassion on them. Israel would be restored, by people trusting God and relying on His power and not by trusting and relying on human rulers. This verse is also connected to the last days, when God will restore His people spiritually and physically. In the end times believers are strengthened by God, this will then lead up to Jesus Christ’s return and reign in the Millennial Kingdom.
Dear God,
Thank you for always being in control of everything. We trust you and rely on you. Thank you for strengthening us and caring for us. Thank you that Jesus Christ is going to return to this fallen world to reign over all the Earth in the Millennial Kingdom. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
