Proverbs 3:25-26 (CSB)
Don’t fear sudden danger or the ruin of the wicked when it comes, for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from a snare.
The author of this verse was King Solomon. Previous verses in chapter 3 tell us of the benefits, in our life, of godly wisdom. For the person who lives their life seeking the will of God, there is a greater chance to succeed and by trusting God there will be nothing to fear. We are not to fear sudden danger. Things may take us by surprise and fear and anxiety would be a person’s response to this, but by putting our trust in God we can live without fear. For a person to always be fearful, it can be detrimental to their well-being. It can cause panic, anxiety, the inability to think straight and can make a person make the wrong decision. By putting your trust in God, you will be much more confident. The verse tells us not to fear the ruin of the wicked when it comes. Those who avoid evil, will avoid the consequences of evil. When we trust the Lord, nobody will be able to trap us. God is by our side and He will protect us and guide us through trials and tribulations.
Dear God,
Thank you for the peace and confidence you give to us when we put our trust in you. Jesus said that we would have suffering in this world, but to be courageous because He has conquered the world. By trusting you God, we are courageous. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
